Gather your documents
Collect the required paperwork before visiting ZINARA or VID.
- Original title deed / logbook (Form MVR1)
- Proof of import duty payment (ZIMRA clearance certificate)
- Valid national ID or passport
- Insurance certificate (third-party minimum)
- Engine & chassis inspection certificate from VID

VID Inspection
Take the vehicle to your nearest Vehicle Inspection Department (VID) office for a roadworthiness check.
- Book an inspection slot at your nearest VID branch
- Pay inspection fee (~$20 USD)
- Receive inspection certificate on the same day if it passes

ZINARA Registration
Visit ZINARA with your full document pack and completed forms.
- Complete form MVR1 (Vehicle Registration)
- Pay registration & number plate fee (~$40–80 USD depending on vehicle type)
- Plates are typically issued same day

Insurance
